A Virtual Bunch of Flowers

Yes, you read the title correctly...

Today, brandishing my secateurs, I went in search of the latest bunch of flowers for Backlane Notebook's challenge.

I decided that the hellebore flowers weren't yet big enough...

& there was only one snowdrop...

So I would go for the grey, green Euphorbia Wulfenii

intermingled with some dazzling red Cornus.

In my mind I had cut the Euphorbia stems shorter than the Cornus. They would look suitably dramatic & theatrical in this glass...

The secateurs were poised ready for the first cut but I just couldn't bring myself to do it...

Therefore, I'm presenting a virtual bunch of flowers this week (safe in the knowledge that I can enjoy looking out at the uncut Euphorbia & Cornus for the next few months to come)

Oh no I couldn't have done it either and a virtual bunch of flowers is fine if you have the real thing outside to look at! Lovely glass vase you have there hardly needs anything in it really!

And a very nice virtual bunch it is too, and one we can all make our own as we each imagine a slightly different arrangement in that gorgeous glass. I am still cutting actual plant stuff for the challenge but most of mine just now is coming from in and under hedgerows in far corners of fields where it is plentiful and no one much will see it anyway.

I picked up a shears today for the first time in my life but only to cut back some dead heather that the builders have been driving over for the last 5 months. Never had a garden before. Perhaps I can plan a virtual garden to add to your beautiful bunch. C.x

I have a really hard time cutting flowers myself. Much more fun to watch them grow! What a very gorgeous glass that is.

Stunning. I think I'm going to try to join in with Backlane Notebook's challenge. It'll be tough to cut the flowers sometimes though - your virtual bunch is a great solution.

You know I envy that glass.

Very smart to enjoy them in situ! Nice that you still have things flowering. Our snowdrops appear in early to mid March, our first blooms in the garden. Seems a long way away just now!
