New Challenge

I've realised that I like a challenge & seeing Backlane Notebook's latest post inspired me to join in. Each week she is going to pick herself a mini bouquet from her garden or hedgerow. I really liked this idea because it's both thrifty and beautiful at the same time.

My garden is a typical city garden, small, walled & nowhere near a hedgerow. This is going to be a challenge that may require some large doses of creative thinking on my part!

I've joined in too! As Sue said, 'the more the merrier'. Isn't it fun, but it definitely might require some lateral thinking on my part too. We have a smallish courtyard garden at the back of the house, with mature shrubs and flowers in pots, and a handkerchief plot at the front of the house, both of which are pretty bare come November, and we don't have an allotment, but I am lucky to have miles and miles of hedgerow right on my doorstep. I'm looking forward to this.

What a wonderful idea. I really like the fact that it's once a week and not once a DAY! That would be a bit too challenging. Although where I live even once a week might be too much - as the flowers have completely disappeared until at March. But we have lots of twigs ... hmmmm.

The bouquet in the photo is beautiful, like a glimpse of lost summer.

What a delightful idea, as soon as I am home in France I will be joining in! Your wee bouquet is magical too.

Gosh I am thrilled at the enthusiasm for the project. It will open up lots of possibilities and hopefully trigger our innate creativity. Evergreen plants can look very lovely and there is always the opportunity to be extra creative with the vase. Charlotte's Plot used a golden syrup tin once, stuffed full of yellow flowers,it looked stunning.

I may join in - I'm not much of a gardener but I'm always surprised at how good everyday flowers, leaves, twigs etc look in a vase.

That sounds like a good challenge. I'm not sure if I shall join you, I need to see what is around my area first. Good luck everyone!

I'll be intrigued to see what form your creative thinking takes on this one!
