tomorrow it's due to be plus 15 degrees centigrade.
I am totally confused...
So sought comfort by making pie (chicken, mushroom, leek, sweetcorn and barley)
Terrible photo but it tasted good... |
The Making Winter Blog Hop is open until the end of the February.
There are also lots of wonderful photos over on the Making Winter Flickr page.

Oh! Tell me about the wonderful little baker-guy in the middle of the pie! (And your pie does look - and sound - delicious.)
It was delicious! The ceramic mini chef lets the steam out of the middle of the pie & helps the contents to cook evenly...(I think they are usually shaped like a blackbird but I have a chef-shaped-one instead)
Please let me know the next time you make one of those, I would love to join you for dinner.
Your pie looks scrummy. Pass some over!!
That pie sounds good. And yes, this weather is crazy, I keep thinking Spring is happening then it gets cold again...
Nice pie :D Isn't this weather crazy!
I like the look of that and especially the shy pie person letting the steam out.
I love the pic of the snow, am a tad envious, doesn't snow here. Instead right now we have been stuck in a summer that doesn't know it's supposed to be summer. We've had blankets on our beds, summers are usually sheet only - or none at all. Even if it's a little warm when we go to bed we still need the blanket because we wake up cold.
It's no wonder Hubby and myself have been laid up with coughs.
How nice to have a little chef letting off steam. (I usually try to cut decorative holes in my top crust, which then get all stretched out of shape when I brush with the beaten egg.)
The puff pastry looks delicious as does the filling.
I'm glad things have warmed up for you.
Look at that lovely snow, I am so happy when the winter warms up, even if it is about to get colder again. we have blossom starting here yippeeee! Nothing helps warm you more than a pie, it looks delicious. - Annie
Suddenly realised today that I hadn't had any email notifications that you had written a blog, so just popped over to see if all was OK. Hope all well.

How did you get the flaky top-crust?
