I was so busy with the
Making Winter project before Christmas that I confess to letting my
Backlane Notebook flower challenge slip a little...
So, this week I got out in the garden & here's what I found...

I have been looking at of my window all morning at a penstemon that has just come into flower and after reading your post I am off out in the garden to pick it and join in with the Backlane notebook flower challenge thanks for the inspiration!

Charming. It's great to have a framework to help you pick things to look at with real attention, isn't it!
How wonderful to have flowers blooming in December!
I love the curly twigs in the second bouquet, and the lovely mop-headed things (sorry I don't know what they're called).
I've kept up with the challenge, but not with the photographing of it, I really need to post an update but have no pics.
The viburnum is gorgeous! This week I had a vase of winter jasmine and another of the most beautiful red freesias (a Christmas present from a friend, I didn't cheat) in the house.
I love the viburnum especially as a single stem. I think I'll have to squeeze in a viburnum- if I can find room- since scent in the garden at this time of year is so lovely.
Well done for finding something so pretty. I love all the textures in the second picture.
